Natural and anthropogenic modes of sea level variability and change

The focus here is to investigate natural and anthropogenic modes of sea level variability and change using ocean reconstructions and simulations as well as CMIP5 climate model scenario runs.  The CMIP5 control runs provide useful data for exploring the "natural variability" within the models themselves.  This will then be compared to the variability within the historical runs, with historical CO2 forcing among other variables, and to the variability found in projections of future SSH.  Other possibilities for extracting the natural and anthropogenic modes of variability from SSH reconstructions and historical data will be explored.
