Student Assistant Hours for Scientists with Family Commitments

CliSAP addresses the compatibility of work and family commitment - such as childcare or eldercare - and provides financial ressources for student assistant hours for scientists with familiy commitments (5h/week for 6 months). This measure aims to allow the applicants more flexibility for research and familiy commitment. The actual call for applications will end on 2 March 2018. The Gender Task Force of CliSAP decides upon the applications. Further information on applying can be found here:

Information Event "Scientific Career and Parenthood"

“A family friendly university is a top for all of us – men and women.” With these words, the Dean of the MIN-Faculty, Prof. Heinrich Graener, apparently said exactly what the visitors of the first “Scientific Career and Parenthood”-Event were thinking. The following panel discussion showed the importance of flexibility for parents in science: flexible working hours, a flexible employer, flexible child care especially during school holidays, and the personal support partners, grandparents, but also working groups can give. Furthermore: No administrative meetings after 5 p.m.

On 26 June 2018 the event took place for the fifth time in series.
