CliSAP successfully finished in 2018. Climate research continues in the Cluster of Excellence "CLICCS".

IA: Integrated Activities

CliSAP’s key research areas are supplemented with the following Integrated Activities: The Integrated Climate Data Center, Integrated Modeling Activities, Global High-Resolution Climate Reconstruction, Understanding Science in Interaction, and Visualization—all fostering research and integrative approaches. Our IAs complement the technical and IT support provided by Universität Hamburg and its partners. In addition, the Cluster of Excellence rides on high-performance computing, large-scale facilities, and field laboratories.

IA 1: Integrated Climate Data Center (ICDC)

The Integrated Climate Data Center operates a climate database providing in situ and satellite data via the internet and data servers.

IA 2: Integrated Modeling Activities

The IMA group expands the modeling expertise within the CliSAP community and assists the University’s Center for Earth System Research and Sustainability (CEN) in developing new earth system models.

IA 3: Global High-Resolution Climate Reconstruction

This project group is developing a global data record for meteorological processes. We strive to establish data streams with high temporal and spatial resolution.

IA 4: Understanding Science in Interaction (USI)

Our project Understanding Science in Interaction takes a look at climate research from a science studies perspective.

IA 5: Visualization

Data visualization is highly effective. Aiming to enhance current climate visualization techniques, our lab builds on the combined expertise of CliSAP, the German Climate Computing Center (DKRZ), and Universität Hamburg.
