C2: Climate Change, Predictions, and Economy

Research Topic C-2 "Climate Change, Predictions, and Economy" addresses two major themes that require integration across scales as well as across a large set of CliSAP-disciplines in dealing with climate, geography, agriculture, economy, and security. Both themes aim at creating strategic input for future climate negotiations.


The theme Consistent decadal climate and economic predictions and projections investigates consistent mitigation scenarios, while the theme Impact chains activated through hydrological changes deals with climate change impacts in two of the largest emerging economies, China and India. Because these two countries play crucial roles in climate negotiations aimed at mitigation, our two themes cross-fertilize each other in their interplay of climate change adaption and mitigation aspects.
