Modeling potential vorticity dynamics on isentropes

The adiabatic dynamics of the Atmosphere is at the base of the typical time and length scales of weather events. Typical locations and durations of extreme events and their tele-connection can by seen as manifestations of the correlations established by the structured turbulent dyanmics of the Atmosphere. One way to investigate the stuctured turbulence of the atmosphere is via the dynamics of potential vorticity on isentropes. A potential vorticity modul is developed for The Portable University Model of the Atmosphere (PUMA).
