CliSAP successfully finished in 2018. Climate research continues in the Cluster of Excellence "CLICCS".

Climate change and migration

In this research focus we analyze the linkages between climate change and migration from a range of perspectives. This includes: examining both the role of climate change as a potential driver of migration and the role of migration for adaptation, including displacement and labor migration scenarios; analyzing the portrayal of migrants in international discourses on climate change and migration; analyzing the international governance of climate change and migration, specifically focusing on ongoing international policymaking processes. We also look at the nexus between migration and conflict, and we contribute to the research area C4.
