This year's International Tsunami Symposium takes part in Bali, Indonesia. Jörn Behrens attended to present results of the coupled earthquak-tsunami simulation work-flow developed in the ASCETE project.

Jörn was involved in the development and implementation of the German-Indonesian Tsunami early warning system (GITEWS) from 2006 through 2009. It was particularly fulfilling to see that the former efforts are still working, with tsunami evacuation signs in place, hotels being prepared for disaster, and even local bay watch personell being informed about proper operational routines in case of an event.
