A New Guide to Climate Knowledge in Germany
27.07.2011The Klimanavigator (or the climate navigator) is a joint portal for over thirty institutions in the German research landscape. They have united to better communicate their results to users in politics, business, administration, and society as a whole. The Klimanavigator helps to collect knowledge about climate protection and how we can adjust to its changes.
Currently, the Klimanavigator includes three sections. An overview of the establishment offers information on all of its partners and their work. The “dossiers” page collects background information on important questions being researched, thus quickly delivering a summary of the current state of research. Finally, in the “news” section, the recent press releases of participating institutions are made available.
The Klimanavigator thus guides users with the widest variety of expectations through the landscape of German climate research.
The institutions involved in this project have agreed to work together on the Klimanavigator by signing a contract of cooperation and are all actively participate in the portal. Further institutions and associations have already indicated interest in joining the project, and the contents of the Klimanavigator are going to be expanded upon in a second step. The plans include the creation of a section on international networks as well as the inclusion of carrier information for scientists.
