Workshop "Energy scenarios of the future" - Increasing CO2-Emissions and Nuclear Energy

Dependable, ecological and cost-effective - which forms of energy can fill these needs best in the light of climate change? What alternatives exist for handling the waste products of our energy supply? How can the risks for humans and the environment best be minimized?

These were the key questions dealt with at a workshop on the 11/12 of September, in which internationally recognized scientists discussed advantages and risks of various technologies and created the basis for the exchange of data and uniform methods for evaluating risks.

The hosts were the scientists of Hamburg´s Cluster of Excellence CliSAP (Integrated Climate System Analysis and Prediction), particularly the Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker Center for Science and Peace Research, the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy as well as the Research Consortium for Science, Disarmament and International Security (FONAS).
