“Hamburg: Green Capital 2011“ – KlimaCampus exhibits at Hamburg’s Central Station

14.01.2011

Beginning today, the KlimaCampus is presenting a multimedia science exhibit on “Urban Climate” at Hamburg’s Central Station.

The exhibit is part of the central information pavilion for the Green Capital, located between the Kunsthalle museum and the railway station – and will be there through February 6. Also being presented and explained are environmental projects from around Hamburg as well as the goals that the Hanseatic city has set for itself as part of the “European Green Capital 2011” programme.

The majority of humanity now lives in cities. How can we go about resolving climate change in those centres? Through interactive screens, an installation and presentation pillars, visitors to the exhibit can learn important facts about urban climate: How fresh air can be guided into cities through intelligent patterns of development, for example, or how temperatures can be limited on hot days through the use of green areas.
