Conference on Media and Climate Change: from the global to the regional

How do the media treat the topic climate change? What are the differences in reporting from country to country? How does the character of the reporting change over time? On the 11th and 12th of October, international media scientists will meet at the KlimaCampus Conference „Communicating Climate Change II“.

The latest development is a shift from a global to a regional focus. The conference will be in English. Examples of the topics:
- MediaClimate from Bali to Copenhagen. An international research project analyzing UN climate change summits as transnational media events
- The "climate thread" as ideology: interrelations between citizen and media discourses
- How media systems condition global climate change communication
- Investigating the role of Australian conservative think tanks in manufacturing doubt about climate science in the news media

The conference will take place in the Guest House of the University of Hamburg.
