CliSAP successfully finished in 2018. Climate research continues in the Cluster of Excellence "CLICCS".

Presenting KlimaCampus in the Europa Passage

The KlimaCampus is taking part in the Hamburger Klimawoche (Hamburg Climate Week) from the 20th to the 26th of September in the Europa Passage for the second time. This time the stand will be shared with the German Climate Computing Centre, the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology and the Climate Service Center.

How can modern climate research be applied to Hamburg? What effects do urban climate factors have? What influence do Hamburg’s trees have on urban climate? The KlimaCampus presents parts of its exhibition on the topic of urban climate: A touch screen with information and interviews with scientists, an information board explaining how global climate and urban factors interact and a display with facts about the influence of city trees on climate. In addition, there will be a globe from the German Climate Computing Centre and the Climate Service Center on which climate simulations from the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology will be made visible.
On Friday, 24 September the so-called Klimanacht (Climate Night) offers a comprehensive science program with exciting presentations, as well as a discussion with Professor Hermann Held, the new head of research on “Sustainable Environmental Development.”
