The relationship between science and policymaking was among the topics discussed as was the question as to whether the IPCC process can be made more transparent. The panel members agreed with the statement that there is ongoing anthropogenic climate change which will intensify in the coming decades. Nevertheless, the assessment of climate change and its causes needs to be an open process, so that lost trust can be regained.
