Lecture by Eugene R. Wahl Examining the forced response of past regional climate</br>

Reconstructing the regional climate response to external forcings such as volcanic eruptions in the past centuries can help in assessing the skill of climate models to simulate climate changes. This talk will analyze proxy-based reconstructions of temperature anomalies in the US induced by past volcanic eruptions and discuss comparisons with the output of GCM paleoclimate simulations.

Dr. Eugene Wahl will be giving his lecture

"Examining the forced response of past regional climate: guiding the selection of general circulation models for regional analysis"

at the KlimaCampus on May 17.
The lecture will be in English and start at 3:15 pm in room 101, ZMAW, Bundesstraße 53.   

Wahl is a physical scientist working at the NOAA Paleoclimatology Program, National Climatic Data Center in Boulder (USA). As a visiting scientist he will be doing research at the KlimaCampus from May 15 to May 19.
