On the CliSAP New Year’s Reception the Gender Task Force awarded Prof. Dr. Martin Claussen with the Gender Equality Award 2015. Claussen received the Award for advocating the effective improvement of work-life balance and family planning for scientific staff financed by third party funds. Until last year a prolongation of contracts – in case of engaged parental leave, for example –wasn’t possible after the end of a third funded project.
In April 2015 the Presidium of Universität Hamburg was engaged with this question and decided to extend contracts of scientific staff financed by third party fund. Before, Prof. Claussen was engaged in finding a solution for this problem and fostered a debate on this question in various panels. The Gender Task Force agrees on his substantial engagement to provide a change on the mentioned topic within Universtität Hamburg and an improvement for the members of CliSAP in special.
