Your personal buddy

As an incoming MSc student you will receive support from a personal buddy, one of our MSc students. This personal buddy will accompany you from the start of your travel and study planning to your arrival and during your first days in Hamburg.

Orientation week

SICSS offers an orientation week for new MSc students right at the start of the study program. You will get to know your fellow students and all the details about your study program and your study environment.

Welcome to Universität Hamburg

Universität Hamburg organizes an International Welcome Week for incoming students with a lot of practical information about language learning, university sports and guided campus and city tours.

Funding options at Universität Hamburg

Universität Hamburg offers funding for international students.

Starting with their second year of a MSc program students can apply for Merit Fellowship for International Students.

Students with a low monthly income can also apply for Degree Completion Grants for International Students and receive funding for up to four months.

Students enrolled at Universität Hamburg can also apply for the Hamburglobal scholarship program, available for students wishing to go abroad (for internships, summer schools and conferences, language courses, study abroad or thesis preparation).

Companies, associations, foundations, and private patrons can now support talented students at Universität Hamburg with the Germany Scholarship.
