Thesis subject

The consequences of marine biota on the global heat and energy budget

Research interests

I evaluate the role of the marine biota in the climate system. Specifically, I will assess the relative importance of biogeochemical, taking into account physiological light and nutriment acclimation versus biogeophysical feedback mechanisms including the light absorption and ocean surface albedo feedback. To study the effect of the marine biota, I will use an Earth system model of intermediate complexity.
