Open Calls

ERA-HDHL Call for “Knowledge Hub on Food and Nutrition Security”
On January 29, 2019, the JPI HDHL, together with JPI OCEANS and FACCE-JPI, published the third call of the ERA-NET Cofund ERA-HDHL ("Biomarkers for Nutrition and Health implementing the JPI HDHL objectives"). The aim of the call is to create a knowledge hub on food and nutrition security to bring together food and food safety stakeholders. The aim is to enable interdisciplinary, international collaborations to understand the impact of climate change on food composition and to find ways to adapt. The selection process for the call is three-stage and begins with a call for expressions of interest until 04 April 2019.

JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (short-term) in Japan
In cooperation with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), the aim of the program is to enable highly qualified young German scientists and doctoral candidates with a doctorate to spend a short period of time researching at universities and selected research institutions in Japan.
Deadline: 30 April 2019

Joachim Herz Foundation: Funding for interdisciplinary Events in the Natural Sciences
Interdisciplinary research needs communication and suitable networks. The aim of this call is for young researchers them to get to know new working methods and methods and at the same time make new contacts.  The call is aimed at organizers of events such as workshops or doctoral schools in the natural sciences, which deal with interdisciplinary topics, actively involve young scientists (doctoral and postdoctoral students) and facilitate exchange with experienced scientists
Deadline: 29 May 2019

JPI Oceans & JPI Climate Joint Call: Next Generation Climate Science in Europe for Oceans
The two Joint Programming Initiatives (JPI) Oceans and Climate have opened a joint call for proposals entitled "Next Generation Climate Science in Europe for Oceans". This call is intended to support research projects addressing one of the following three themes:
i) Strengthening our understanding of climate variability and extremes resulting from the interactions with the oceans such as extratropical and tropical cyclones, and how they are affected by climate change on a range of time scales.
ii) Improving the representation of air-sea interactions, physical and biogeochemical ocean processes in Earth System Models to better represent small-scale non-linear processes as well as water, energy and carbon cycles. Model-data analyses using innovative approaches will be welcome.
iii) Improving estimates of climate change induced modifications of ocean physics and ocean chemistry, associated with biogeochemical cycles, including ocean acidification and carbon sequestration
Deadline: 14 June 2019
