A model for volcanic plumes and its solution by an adaptive numerical scheme.
My research focuses on the simulation and modelling of volcanic eruptions, especially volcanic plumes. Most algorithms for volcanic plume modelling do not offer high spatial resolution throughout the whole computational domain. By developing a new algorithm which incorporates adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) I improve the resolution of volcanic simulations while still maintaining reasonable computation times.
