Vladimir Putin visits KlimaCampus researchers in Lena Delta

The Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited the polar research station "Samoylov" in order to get an overview of the scientific work of the Russian and German colleagues about permafrost in Siberia.

Putin visited the field experiments related to micro meteorology, greenhouse
gas flux studies as well as to palaeoclimate research of the Alfred Wegener Institute, Potsdam, the KlimaCampus of the University of Hamburg, the University of Cologne, the Arctic und Antarctic Research Institute, St. Petersburg, Permafrost
Institute in Yakutsk, Moscow State University and the Institute of Forest Research, Krasnojarsk. Additionally, a one-hour discussion between the prime minister and the members of expedition took place including the future of Polar Research in Northern Russia.
