“Research in Germany”: CliSAP at the AGU Fall Meeting

16.12.2015

From December 14 to 18, almost 23,000 researchers from 114 countries flocked to San Francisco (USA) to see the latest scientific advances and technological innovations in the geosciences. At the Fall Meeting of the “American Geophysical Union” (AGU) researchers from Hamburg’s Cluster of Excellence CliSAP also offered a look behind the scenes of their own work.

Together with the German Research Foundation and the two North German Clusters of Excellence “Future Ocean” and “Marum” CliSAP once again participates in the world’s largest event for the geosciences. Under the banner “Research in Germany,” visitors had the chance to learn more about the research programms. The booth served as an info-point and source of contact for established researchers, young talents and partners from around the globe.

“German climate research met with lively interest from the participants,” says Ute Kreis, Head of CliSAP's press and outreach. “In particular young researchers come to our booth with questions about current research projects and career opportunities.”

For the first time there also is information on the Priority Programme “Regional Sea Level Change and Society” at AGU, which is coordinated in Hamburg.
