This year 14 young women and men will be participating in the two-year program. They come from Australia, Bangladesh, China, Iran, Jamaica, Nigeria, Austria, Pakistan and, of course, Germany. There is a strict selection process for the candidates: "We selected our students from over 80 applicants on the basis of their excellent previous work", says the Coordinator of the graduate school SICSS, Dr. Oliver Dilly.
From the 10th to the 14th of October the newcomers will be participating in an orientation week. They will be introduced to the campus, informed about technical details and program content and will visit some of the partner institutions. In addition, they will have the opportunity to get to know one another and talk to the older students and the faculty about their expectations regarding their studies of climate sciences.
