CliSAP successfully finished in 2018. Climate research continues in the Cluster of Excellence "CLICCS".

Hamburg climate scientists at the EGU General Assembly

From April 18 to 22, ca. 13,000 participants gathered to discuss the latest advances in the geosciences at the annual European Geosciences Union General Assembly in Vienna, and Hamburg’s research community was well represented.

The EGU General Assembly is the largest conference in Geosciences in Europe.
Around 130 CliSAP and CEN scientists are in Vienna.

Researchers from Hamburg’s Cluster of Excellence CliSAP and Universität Hamburg’s Center for Earth System Research and Sustainability hosted around 130 lectures and poster presentations.

Several young researchers from the CliSAP graduate school, the School of Integrated Climate System Sciences (SICSS), also traveled to Vienna to present their work. As in previous years, the CliSAP and the CEN, together with the two north German Clusters of Excellence The Future Ocean and MARUM, hosted a joint booth. This year’s motto: Marine and Climate Sciences Germany.

On Wednesday, there was a reunion for alumni of the three Clusters, the SICSS and the CEN at the joint booth. Active researchers also took advantage of the opportunity to do a bit of networking.
